Working with Karen has been an absolute delight from start to finish! My husband and I are first time homebuyers with an FHA loan and we sure chose quite the intense market to buy in. Highly recommend Karen. We had an amazingly fast and efficient process with Karen. She was with us every step of the way, honest throughout the process, answered every question we came up, was patient with us as the buyers, and was just as excited for us as we were when we found the one.

Karen helped us buy our new home and sell our old one. Each was tricky in its own way and Karen's experience and persistence proved to be invaluable in both processes: We bought our new home off the market in a desirable neighborhood. We chose Karen to represent us because she is very familiar with Bay View, which can be quite competitive. Friends who had bought and sold in Bay View recommended her to us. Her intimate knowledge of the area and her friendliness with other local agents meant that, when we found the perfect home that we knew would be for sale soon, she was able to negotiate the sale for us before the house even hit the market. The transaction was as smooth as can be and, while the price we ended up paying was likely commensurate with what it would have gone for on the market, getting the house we wanted without having to risk the uncertainty of the market was priceless. (Turns out she helped our neighbor across the street from this house buy their house too. It was nice to have that point of connection right off the bat!) Selling our previous home was a whole different animal and, here too, Karen's steady hand and anticipation of potential problems made all the difference. This house is a historic mansion that we've been renovating for the past six years. It's a beautiful monster of a house and a project that will never truly be finished. For the right buyer it was going to be an absolute gem but, for most people, it was not going to be a good fit. We knew from the beginning that the process of finding the right buyer might be hard: it would require patience and grit. Karen was absolutely up for the job. She helped us decide which ongoing projects needed to be wrapped up before listing and which would not provide any further return on investment. She took the time to understand the uniqueness of the house and, by the end of the process, she was attending every showing in order to sell those unique features. She helped us unravel some outstanding building permit issues that were tied up with city. I kid you not, she was over at the house with a fly-swatter when we had a random outbreak of flies (gross) before an important showing! When the house was under contract she helped the buyer's agent, who was less experienced, handle their lender which was making all sorts of ludicrous demands. Most importantly, she got the deal done despite a number of setbacks. I think Karen has been in the realty business for around sixteen years and the benefits of that experience were obvious. When our old house closed, we went out to lunch to celebrate and she asked us what we thought she might be able to do better next time. First of all, we were at a loss for any substantive input here, but also, the fact that someone with her level of expertise even asked this question is a testament to the type of person that she is. She cares about her clients and understands the gravity of the situation that home buying/selling is. She wants to help people get themselves not only into a home that they love but also into good financial footing. When all was said and done, I think we spent about nine months working with Karen and the more we got to know her, the more impressed we were.
